Watch: 33-meter superyacht catches fire and sinks in Ibiza

The Bilgin motor boat Good Vibes caught fire in Ibiza. According to reports, the yacht is still partially submerged in the port of Ibiza despite five hours of firefighting efforts.

The superyacht was reportedly “surfing” through the Es Freus marine reserve between Ibiza and Formentera at the time of the incident, according to local media reports.

When the fire started, a commercial ship intervened to tow the boat to a free dock in the Ibiza port so that fire crews could get to the yacht.

According to estimates, the fire broke out in the engine room at about 2.30 p.m. local time. Around 8 o’clock local time, the fire was extinguished after multiple fire teams battled the flames.

Social media video demonstrates the yacht’s severe stern list. After being hauled across the marina, she was subsequently discovered capsized next to a cargo ship.

There have been no reported injuries.

Good Vibes, a well-liked charter boat, was delivered in 2010 by the Turkish shipyard Bilgin. This vessel’s five staterooms can accommodate eight people, and its huge sundeck with a bar, jacuzzi, and lounge area is its crowning feature.
