Anthony Hsieh purchases the first Damen Yachting YS 53.

The first vessel from Damen Yachting’s all-new YS 53 series has been sold. Anthony Hsieh’s unique and extensive private fishing program will include this 53-meter from the Dutch builder’s Yacht Support series, which will be delivered in 2023.

“No one has ever done what we’re proposing to do with the 5301 before, and I believe this will open up a whole new world of adventure for future sportsmen to explore.” This ambitious program, in my opinion, will inspire a whole new generation of athletes to build their own programs. The sport, yachting, and fishing businesses will benefit,” says Anthony Hsieh, owner of the Bad Company fleet.

When the YS 5301 joins Hsieh’s Bad Company fleet in 2023, he has big plans for it. She will be based primarily in the Indian and Pacific Oceans, and will serve as the home and hub of his one-of-a-kind and vast fishing program, which will include fishing in relatively unknown seas and support various marine conservation programs. The YS 5301 will be outfitted with a 43-foot Release Game boat and a 32-foot Blackfin, which holds special meaning for Hsieh. The Blackfin was Hsieh’s first Game fishing boat purchase more than 30 years ago, and it was just repurchased and renovated for this adventure. Both Game boats will be deployed in places where the Bad Company fleet currently does not exist.

The 46-meter YS 4508 Yacht Support, Bad Company Support, is responsible for the program’s Atlantic activities. The vessel, which has a 33-foot game boat on board, was built and delivered by Damen Yachting in 2019 before being sold and joining the Bad Company fleet in 2021.

Throughout the transaction, Jan van Hogerwou of Damen Yachting worked closely with Neil Emmott of Superyacht Sales and Charter in Fort Lauderdale on behalf of Hsieh. “This is one of our most interesting initiatives to date.” This is not only the first of our new YS 53 line, but also the first Yacht Support we’ve designed for a sport fishing fleet and program. Hsieh’s unique vision and objective for this all-new Yacht Support is incredibly exciting, and we are looking forward to the next 12 months as we prepare her to join the rest of his fleet.”

Damen Yachting was founded in 2019 as a branch of the Damen Shipyards Group. The division brings together Amels’ pedigree and history with a growing portfolio of SeaXplorer boats and Yacht Support vessels.
